A package containing more than 25 kilograms of ketamine washed up on a seashore in Trat province on Thailand’s japanese coast yesterday. A 65 year outdated girl was out accumulating garbage on the seashore when she discovered what seemed to be 25 bags of Chinese tea tied together washed up on the shore.
Upon nearer inspection, the baggage had been crammed with white powder. At first, the police suspected the drug was crystal methamphetamine, generally identified as “ice”, which has washed up in giant quantities on beaches in Trat before. When it was tested, it turned out to be ketamine.
The lady thought the package deal appeared suspicious so she contacted Khlong Yai District Sheriff, who, with local police, troopers and district mayor Surasak Intharaprasert went to examine the package.
Like crystal methamphetamine, ketamine is flake-like in look. The inspection staff suspected the 25 tea bags, every weighing a kilogram, had been crammed with crystal methamphetamine since a tonne of crystal methamphetamine washed up on beaches in Trat province two years ago, but checks revealed otherwise.
