Atlas Copco to accumulate Wangen Pumpen

Atlas Copco has agreed to acquire the German industrial pump producer Pumpenfabrik Wangen GmbH from personal equity firm Silverfleet Capital.

Headquartered in Wangen in the Allgäu region of Germany, Pumpenfabrik Wangen specialises in progressive cavity pumps used mainly within the biogas and wastewater sectors, and twin-screw pumps for meals and beverage and cosmetics purposes.
Pumpenfabrik Wangen has manufacturing amenities in Germany, a US subsidiary and a global sales and repair footprint. The company employs 265 people and had 2020 revenues of roughly €46.4 million.
“Industrial pumps is a segment that we now have identified as a strategic fit for Atlas Copco and Wangen Pumpen has main differentiated technology with a powerful aftermarket business,” stated Andrew Walker, president of Atlas Copco’s Power Technique business space. “Wangen Pumpen is a strong model and is known for high quality in demanding industrial applications. This acquisition will create a strong basis for additional progress in new industrial pump segments.”
The acquired business will turn into a part of the Power and Flow division within Atlas Copco’s Power Technique Business Area.
