After getting into new business premises back in 2018 and launching Axapta in 2019, WIKA Mexico is going for a further step this year: The calibration laboratory for pressure is being commissioned in accordance with Mexican standard NMX-EC-17025-IMNC-2018/ ISO/IEC 17025 (2017).
The brand new calibration system in operation
A new member of staff was recruited last August to take care of the certification process and operation of the laboratory. This April, WIKA Mexico was accredited by the Mexican certification company EMA. Through the preparatory phase, typical tasks were processed, including a laboratory ring comparison and internal audits. The first accreditation audit was completed without the issues being raised.
The number of services includes the calibration of process pressure gauges, and of simple reference devices. Expert that were previously outsourced are actually provided in-house. This boosts that service for customers, and WIKA is winning more orders. Within the next step, the number of calibration services is usually to be extended to include higher-end pressure calibrations, and temperature will undoubtedly be introduced in the laboratory as a new measurand.
