In sanitary applications, diaphragm seal systems ensure a safe and precise monitoring of the process pressure. WIKA therefore also offers welded units of diaphragm seal and measuring instrument with TRI-CLAMP connection for process integration. A combination of this connection with easy-to-clean NovAseptic connecting pieces is possible without further modification.
Diaphragm seal systems from WIKA with TRI-CLAMP connection for sanitary applications
Compact component
The TRI-CLAMP connection is trusted in sanitary applications. It is used, among other things, for tanks and similar vessels. In comparison to other process connections for this industry, e.g. DIN 11864-2 flange connections, the TRI-CLAMP is a compact and lightweight component. The great advantage of this type of connection is its ease of handling. Measuring instruments are installed, without tools, utilizing a clamp connection.
To become able to integrate the TRI-CLAMP into the process, a connecting nozzle of the same size is necessary as a counterpart. In this way, an additional hollow body is established on the vessel. Here, a dead space can arise through the process due to air inclusions or gas bubbles. Thus, an increased cleaning effort is essential to minimise the potential risks.
Rapid cleaning processes
NovAseptic connecting pieces certainly are a hygienic alternative to this. The adapter for the TRI-CLAMP connection is welded straight into the surface of the vessel, the ferrule is fixed with head nuts. When installed correctly, the connecting nozzle welded in flush to the tank wall ensures a link without dead space. This fulfils an important prerequisite for effective and, at the same time, rapid CIP/SIP processes.
Application-specific design
All diaphragm seal systems, along with other WIKA measuring instruments, with conventional TRI-CLAMP connections could be installed with NovAseptic fittings without any modification measures. Generally, WIKA diaphragm seal systems for sanitary applications are designed for specific applications ? in the case of pharmaceutical processes, in accordance with GMP guidelines. The system fill fluid is accordingly FDA-compliant.
