A tragic accident occurred on the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway in George Town, when a falling tree caused a collision involving two cars and three bikes, resulting in one fatality and three injured victims. According to took place early in the morning, with the police receiving a name at 1.30am.
The motorcyclist, Mohd Farid Amirol Shah, 18 years old, died on the scene as a end result of severe head injuries, whereas three other people sustained minor injuries. North-east district police chief Soffian Santong said that a whole of 10 people were concerned within the accident, but six of them escaped unharmed. The deceased and injured victims were transported to Penang Hospital.
