More than 100 drug shops across Thailand have been discovered to be working illegally, some with out licenced pharmacists and required certificates, based on the Commander of the Consumer Protection Police Division. Lifetime arrested 127 drug retailer staff and seize greater than 350 gadgets.
According to Thai media, the CPPD received a report from the Food and Drug Administration saying that many residents complained that some drug shops operate with out certificates. Some staff, who weren’t licensed pharmacists, reportedly offered sleeping pills, drug units, anti-allergy tablets, and different medicine that can be dangerous if not taken correctly. Selling prescribed drugs with no correct licence violates the Drug Act B.E. 2510 (1967) and the Pharmaceutical Profession Act B.E. 2537 (1994).
During the investigations, authorities 17 drug stores have been arrested for working without approval, and 199 store workers were arrested for working with out pharmaceutical proficiency. Some drug shops have been also offered drugs with psychotropic substances, which also violates the Narcotics Act..
